OPEN POSITION - DEPUTY DIRECTOR
The Fairfield County Board of Elections is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Deputy Director. The successful applicant must be a registered Republican and be willing to relocate to Fairfield County within 30 days of hire. Please note that applicants must meet all minimum qualifications as outlined in SOS Directive 2010-02 which is attached to the job posting. NEW TELEPHONE NUMBERS
The Fairfield County Board of Elections will have new telephone numbers beginning June 11, 2010. The new numbers will be 740-652-7000 or 614-322-5270 (Columbus area). The old phone numbers will still be active but only for a very short period of time. Please note the new numbers and begin to use them on Friday, June 11th.
NEW CANDIDATE AND ISSUE FILING DEADLINE FOR NOVEMBER 2, 2010 GENERAL ELECTION
Due to passage of Am. Sub. HB 48 effective July 2, 2010, which incorporated the provisions of the federal Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act into Ohio law, candidate petitions and questions/issues filing deadlines have been changed from 75 days before an election to 90 days before an election. This means the petition filing deadline for candidates for state board of education members and county court judges as well as filing deadlines for questions and issues (including local liquor option petitions) will be affected for the November 2, 2010 general election. The new filing deadline for these items (for the November 2, 2010 general election) is 4 p.m. on August 4, 2010.
